i thought Sedo Fee is 10% of whatever the sale price....
but it seems now it reverts back to minimum $50 or 10% whichever is greater...

Hmm... i think at least we should be informed about this.

I got an offer for $160 for a domain. Sedo wrote to me that they would deduct $150 as commission and I would get $10.

Obviously I did not accept the offer.

The minimum commission depends on the domain name extension. What's the domain extension you are selling?

how can sedo expects to take 150 out of 160 dollar sale no matter which extension it is..
i am sure people will react to this and help sedo either be consumer friendly or force out of market.

My extension was .in - however it is absolutely wrong to have different commission for different tlds.

Can we say it is the cyber version of racial discrimination ?

The high commission fee is mainly associated with domains that are really hard to transfer and require high amount of time. For example .ua domains is very problematic to transfer because it requires trademark from the new owner of the domain name.

I am not trying to defend Sedo, I am just trying to find the explanation

perhaps it is reasonable for other extension or ccTLD to have higher min fee.

but for common .com / .net / .org TLD they are reverting to minimum $50 no matter how low is the bid.

it used to be just 10% no matter how low is the selling price.
Now there is no point selling domain less than $500 through sedo.

That's strange. I thought they changed their commission model for gTLD at least

I just sold a domain for Eur 180 (130 for me) but I had to cancel other possible deals due to the fees rules that I find absurd.

I think that I should change company, any suggestions please? I got around 115 domains parked or for sale there. Thanks!

Probably they have 10% without minimum for domains which are parked at Sedo.

That's why you should take that (commission) into consideration when PRICING your domains to be listed there.

Hello all,

As has been mentioned its all about the tld. The no minimum commission offer applies to the following:

.com/.net/.org/.info/.biz/.us/.name/.li/.be/.dk/.de/.at/.ch/.tv/.ws/.mx

The domain must be parked at the time it is bid on and durring the transfer process.

I'd be in favour of a $50 minimum on parked .COM/.NET if the minimum bid price was increased.
