Dear Sedo customer,

You may notice that your domain ****tsunami.info has been deleted from our system. I am sorry to say that Sedo has decided not to permit any tsunami-related domains in the wake of the terrible catastrophe in Asia. Even though it no longer receives high news coverage, the the emotional wounds are still fresh and people all around the globe were affected.
We thank you for your co-operation in this matter and hope you continue to enjoy using the rest of our services.

I guess tsunami domains are out, but I can list domains about fudgepacking just fine.

Maybe they should ban all those silly pope Benedict domains while they're at it. Is Sedo becoming a second class Ebay?

Hell why they are at it ban every name that offends someone...it would be the end of everything. Including their buisness. Facists piss me off.

wow !!

nice to hear there are sensitive romantic guys out there in the sedo staff !!!

but they seem were not affected at all by the tragic 11 september attacks

11september.us for sale
11september.info for sale
11september.biz for sale
11september.de for sale
11september.ws for sale
11-september.com for sale

11 september wounds are also still fresh and the war on terrorism continues

but they still insist to list domains like

osama-bin-laden.com for sale
bushbinladen.com for sale
dearbinladen.com for sale
osamabinladen.biz for sale

strange behavior indeed!

sedo is a facist company if I have ever seem one. They will not even consider you domains for a top domain uless you have them appraised by them. Even though other sites have appraised them will over the 10000 mark which is there limit.

Hell ban my name dustypus*y.com. Just becuse some people haven't been laid in a while.

Wow, this could be fun ... if Sedo considers "tsunami" to be offensive, one can be sure folks can find numerous keywords that are far more offensive which Sedo lists...

Here are a few seemingly more offensive *keywords* I found listings for on Sedo:

nazi (12)
nigger (6)
c*nt (432)

Here's an excellent news article from the "The Register" that Sedo MUST definitely read regarding offensive words - why does Sedo not filter all of those out too?

Rudest words in Britain:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2000/12/12/rudest_words_in_britain/

Ron

p.s. interestingly "sedo" is considered ok by Sedo - found listings such as sedo.com.tw, sedo.me.uk, sedocom.com, sedonews.com, sedoforum.com, etc. ...

Interesting that they waited until it was no longer a significant revenue earner for them before banning it. I guess those other "offensive" terms are still pulling in the hits!

excuse my ignorance, but what is fudgepacking, never heard of it.
I agree with one thing it would be tough to draw a line on offensive names, what about the 1,000's who nock country leaders and movie stars

Sedo seems like the type of company that will allow almost anything as long as it connects them to nothing, yet they allow many objectional names. Maybe some needs to fudgepack them.

1944: 6,000,000 dead Holocaust
1945: 216,000 dead Hiroshima and Nagasaki
1965: 1,500,000 dead drought in India
1970: 300,000 dead cyklone in Bangladesh
1991: 139,000 dead cyklone in Bangladesh
2004: 285,000 dead tsunami Indian Ocean

and now compare this to:

2001: 2,990 dead 4 planes crash in US

see the difference?
