what do u think about this new developement in sedo.
I personally find the SMS thinghy very funny. I mean anyone can buy sim card for just 10 bucks and certify himself/herself.

To quickly certify your account, enter your mobile number on the following page. We will then send you a certification code via SMS. Once receiving the SMS enter the code in the appropriate field and agree to our Buyer Certification Statement. at least sedo is trying to respond to our feedback on the fake buyer issue and do something about it.

Yeah Buy a pay as you go or disposable phone and you are certified.

Again, SEDO going for overkill, they just dont listen to what was said. We made a suggestion to have certified buyers, not that all buyers be certified.

This will surely halve the amount of offers, even the good ones. People are reluctant to share information on the web.. Buying domains is all about momentum and this sort of thing will kill it.. I agree that to bid on domains over $5000 people should be verified, but who on earth would go to the effort of getting verified to buy a $100 domain?

SEDO are so out of touch with the market in which the promote.

Loose the SMS verification.. its pointless.

Credit Cards, Utility Bills, Passports now thats verification... the other 2 are laughable.

p.s. I do appreciate you making me a verified buyer by default and not making me go through the process.

There ppc did slow down but so does every ppc site i have ever tried after the
first month or so. sedo has a great response time and if you run into problems you can list it here and your problem is resolved. Thank you sedo for putting your effort;s into making my business a diversified one.

I am wondering if their efforts are not going to be counter-productive. Serious buyers may not like the additional red tape. At the worst you will get direct offers, effectively bypassing Sedo fees :cheeky:
Also I suspect many users are in for a one-time transaction and are not repeat buyers. So I doubt it is a really smart move.

The domains I have parked at sedo get more offers on AfterNIC than SEDO.. I agree that its a step in the right direction, but i feel its misguided and a pink elephant.

I just feel sedo actually put a lot of thought into it, sedo really need to do due diligence when implementing new additions, It will be to their own detrement as they have just cut out a huge buying community..

Perhaps they are just concentrating on the big sales..

People in the market like secure places to buy domain names

that is why escrow.com is used on big transaction's

sedo has brought to big buyer to the playing field. I would like to know if the

person has bought and sold domain names in the past and i am willing to take

extra steps to ensure im buying to right name from the right person. I would

like to know how many of you have sold a name or bought a name from sedo

i would guess not many.

this brings a good deal of confidence to the buyer.

If they trust you they are not afraid to pull out the wallet

i don't discount your needs for a good solid place where you can park your

domain names and provide a income for yourself. If you have had issues

one nonpayment it's most likely the buyer not sedo. They will provide you

information you need to go after the buyer. Just ask them. If sedo listened

to everyperson on this forum are any other forum they would not be in

business 75% of people don't realize how important a domain name is.

sedo provides you with tools to made your domain life easier. Seems you

should stop and smell the roses. Is there a better place than sedo? No.

ppc, domain name broker, event sponser. appraiser, marketer. Honest

people doing an honest job for thousands of people everyday. How would

you like it if i told you our web design company is not effective because

you did not spell a word right or the page need redo and it had taken

a week longer. But there is no way you deal with thousands of people a day

so you will never know.

No problem. If you type in the same URL without the www. it's fine. It's just their SSL certificate not matching anything else than 'sedo.com' k:
