I've recently come across a few nice available .com's that have developed domains on the .net version. I'm thinking of registering a few and seeing if I can re-sell to the .net owner.

Does anyone have experience selling .com's to .net/org owners? Is it worth pursuing in your opinion?

Check to see if they own any trademarks or if they were the previous owner of the .com. It's possible but not the easiest water to navigate. Just be sure the name is clear of legal issues and then go for it. From my experience, the .net owner doesn't buy the .com for a few reasons; they don't care, they don't understand the importance of owning the .com, and or they can't justify the spending. If they are not domainer's they simply won't get the pricing, they figure $10 should cure it. LOL. Yes, it has happened to me. Be prepared to keep the name if they don't want it. Cheers,

Paul

Thanks for the tips. I'll definitely to a tm search before buying any of these. Just hope I get a little more than $10 LOL!

I guess I'll be able to tell if they are good traffic/ppc before contacting the .net owner since I have to wait 60 days before I can transfer a new domain (right?).

U can alway do a push of the domain to the owner anytime after u register a name , 60 days is transfer restriction but u can always push the name.

Indeed so. If you see any .com available while just the .net is taken, it's prime but speculative real estate. PM me if you'd like to share for a modest payment!
