Actually there is no secret and I have posted this many times on the forum but some people just have an excuse of having no time.
When you bought the name(s), you think there is a potential of developing them into a site and you end up doing nothing with the names.
There are many venues that you can use to sell the names and the one that I find it works for me was from parking inquiry.
Here is what you should do as soon as you have the names in your possession:
- Double check to make sure the who is information is correct so the end user can contact you either by phone or email.
- Change the DNS to the parking DNS and make sure that you turn the "For Sale" option on.

Keep track of the buyer contact information as you may have some repeat businesses in the future. Send a thank you note after the transaction is complete and ask them what other domain names they may be looking in the future.

The percentage of sales to the "pure end users" is small. I found that the majority of the buyers are IT or WEB consulting companies or individuals. Keep track of the list and the requirements for future purchases and contact them once every three months (depending on who they are).

Good info Bro!

Another Tip: Oh and when approaching end users. Make sure you actually own the name you are trying to sell. :) (nope not a joke)

Thank you for the info Johnn.

I find most useful the comments about staying in touch with the buyer and the thank you note after the sale. I believe most buyers appreciate this, especially those who may have bought through an auction such as Sedo where they have no direct contact with the seller.

I've had some success selling again to the same buyer after contacting them after the sale so I know its very much worth the effort!

When communicating with the end user, do not use free email: gmail, yahoo, etc... and make sure you include your phone number.

Don't be afraid. Get past the fear of calling them. You will feel exhilarated after you close a sale!
