I would like to sell a site that makes about 500-1000 a month and has not been promoted or built properly. Traffic is about 1.7 hits a month. The name is perfect and perhaps worth(retail) what I want for the site. I want $10,000 for it, but I would consider offers over $4000. With a little a bit of work and knowledge I think you could get membership well over 2000. With someone with A bit of PR knowledge I believe it could also get national exposure. Membership is currently about 800 but I don't have a solid count. If some one has a serious interest I will give out more details. I will not sell for less tahn $4000, so please don't ask.

If you want to have a high traffic money making site, this is it. I no longer have an interest in running it, but at $1000 a month I will not let it go for a song. It also has custom software and about $500 in product.(retail)

No its not urldeal. Its a stockmarket related site. I don't care to mention it publicly. I will give details if some one has a true interest.

How can anyone have a "true" interest if we don't even know what you are talking about....

And as I continue to say if people have a true interest and at least $4000 I will provide all details, its just not going to be done in public.

I'm trying to. I do not expect people to make offers site unseen. How many people here have bought or sold a business? How many have been to a business broker? Its in my best interest that this information not be public. In the real world you must sign a contract to make sure the information stays private. As I've said, now for the fourth time, if someone has a true interest, I will provide all the details. It does not need to be done publicly, and the only people that I care to share the information with needs to have a true interest and the money.

I do not understand the above comments. This information should be done in private. i would surely not expect someone to spend $10,000 without knowing all the details. I do not see how anything I've done could be anything but business like.

I think I will put the site up for sale on ebay in the coming days. I will tell all the name then as tehn it will be public. I will try to prove all sources of income at that point. For those that have asked, yes the main source of income has been donations. I also make good money off of sales of tshirts and books. I will include the shirts, but not the books, I will also include the person that printed the shirts. I also receive income froms ads, and sales from sponsors. The site needs someone to ......make it more of a business. The product list needs to be expanded, and ads need to be placed on the forum page.

Anyway, I'll make a post here when I put it one ebay, along with all needed details. All but one site of its kind has gone to membership.

And finally please read what I wrote. $10,000 would buy the site, not $4000. I said I would consider offers over $4000.

Good luck with your sale keshe.

Selling sites can be problematic especially if the site can be duplicated. NDA's can protect you to some degree but in the end they only keep honest people honest for sales in the range that you are talking about.

Some sites I sell would be just to difficult (or expensive) for a buyer to start from scratch so I have no problems posting them.

Others I require an NDA before I will show it to somebody...and I always require SOME type of proof upfront that they have the capacity to buy in the range we are discussing.

Some sites that I make money with (not for sale) are to easy to duplicate and I would NEVER show them to anybody for any reason....who needs the competition.

One of the sites I recently posted on this board did not sell. But a user here wrote me asking if I would give him the name of my suppliers and sell him the software so he could make his own site. .....I of course declined. It' s not that I'm not interested in helping, but I'm more the "teach a man to fish" kind of guy. Buy the site and "ill give you some ideas to get it moving. Don't ask me to hand you my fish for free.

Again, good luck with the sale!

p.s. the price range is right if the income can be shown. the site doesnt fit into my portfolio.... otherwise I'd jump on it.

Good advice, Larry. You can't be too careful on the Internet.

Goodwill for the business in question also helps.

There is nothing wrong in keshe's attitude. If you want to deal with him just send him a PM. That is it. The seller has a choice to determine his business model.

SAF.

Keshe please PM me the name and its traffic stats.

Larry,

Thank you very much. I have bought and sold businesses before, but this is my first real site to try to sale. You are completely correct that I don't understand all the internet stuff, bottomline a business is a business. I wish it did fit in your portfolio, as you are the type person I would like to sale to. I use two years net, minus debt, plus inventory as a guideline, that doesn't seem to be the rule on the net.

It seems obvious to me that many that have contacted me have never bought or sold a business, that some are just curious. Some have even doubted my word. I should have planned better about selling the site. I honestly do get cash in the mail on a regular basis, that I can not prove, not a huge amount, but a decent percentage in the monthly income.

Thanks for the note.

Lets see. First I can not Pm everyone with the details. Mainly because I can't get my mind around the best way to sort out the looky lous and I don't have proof on income put together in a proper format. I plan on doing that, or trying, and when I get that together, I will put the site for sale the best way I can think of.

If I do it publicly I will be more forthcoming. It is not good for a business for it to be known its for sale. I have no problem sharing traffic, but I do not want to give the name out publicly and I don't have proof of income put together yet. I grew too tired of the site yesterday, and I put it up for sale with out the proper paperwork. I errored in that.

I am not going to respond to anyone about the sale until I have more details to show. If someone is serious about the $10,000 figure I will get off my wide white butt.

I will post traffin numbers, and respond to a few PM's, but until I get all the needed paperwork together need to back off a bit.
