Thanks for the advice ThinLizzy.

I'll take that with a 50.lb bag of rocksalt though.

Only 2 posts and your well on your way to flaming someone.

FYI
I did check a few facts before I appraised. I used the term sheeps head and not sheepshead and only came up with 44 hits.

Cheers!

No flame intended mudfence, and I'll try to keep in mind that the validity of advice rises exponentially with the number of posts one makes.

And in answer to your cryptic PM "do you have a problem?":

None at all but thanks for asking

3500 searches on overture is nothing. 50,000 overture searches is a good starting point for anything that is non .com.

also sheepshead is a card game. that doesn't make it fit very well with a geographic based extension like .us

quoting google for word usage is not much of a factor imo in valuations of domains.

also 100,000 google results is nothing.

the word "level" shows 63 million results

Clearly the cardgame "sheepshead" is a popular one, but still a niche. The com/net are registered and are for sale, with the com being marketed to the brooklyn, NY area, sheepshead bay. The org is reged as well and seems to be one of, if not the home base for sheepshead card players, with a google PR of 6 and an alexa of 1.3 mill.

So unless your an avid sheepshead player that wants to take the time to develop the site and take the traffic from the org, I think the $0 evaluations are close to, if not on the mark.

Cheers

It's the American name for a very popular German card game so perhaps .us is more appropriate than .com or n.net

It is also a place name in the US

It is also a very popular small american game fish sought out by many a fisherman.

All the above specifically related to the US .

But I have to bow to the superior knowledge of my superiors.

Ah well perhaps I will learn.

I don't really think this name has much value as a .us extenstion.

However, a name associated with a popular game could become a gem if developed into a useful site. Definitely a niche.

I never heard of the game "sheepshead" However, I did used to catch sheepshead fish off the coast of SanDiego, Calif. They are a boney and thick skinned fish, that put up a pretty good battle when hooked. I never did like them, because they taste like crap to me. Trying to fillet them is like cutting the sole off your shoe. I used to call them "shithead" because I hated hooking them. I'd usually throw them back and lets the seals eat them. So therefore my value of name "sheepshead" is a big fat zero!
