Looks like the free lunch is over. If you really want a name, it seems like you have to pay retail now, or at least close to retail. It's time for the WLS to take over.
If I were a registrar I would have never aligned myself with snapnames based on the way they pay and the length of time it takes them (3 months). WHy should they finance snpanames business?
The registrars aligning themselves with the likes of Pool.com are just getting a better deal. Nothing wrong with that!
We all used snapnames and it was great when we had a snap on a name we felt pretty confident we were going to get it. The problem was that if someone else had the snap on a name you wanted you were screwed.
I fair much better now thatsnapnames has fallen by the wayside. Whether it be for some $8.75 names at NW or a $60-$2000 bid at Pool.com I am more successful even against my own snaps.
WLS is not even completed and we don't know exactly how it is going to work and/or how much it will cost yet people are already for it? Reminds me of Communism. Looks great on paper and should work but doesn't.
Enough about WLS. If it happens it happens and we can all move forward but everytime a name is not caught by snapnames it turns into a "Bring on WLS!"
Lastly, I am SO GLad the free lunch is over! THIS IS A BUSINESS!!
