I'm looking for a good domain for a green living, natural, organic, eco-friendly blog I'd like to start up.
the domain "organicsoul.com" is for sale...

I was thinking of organic soul kind of like chicken soup for the soul or chicken soup for the pet lovers soul.

So the information on the website would be for the "Organic Soul"

Do you guys think this could be brandable or am I crazy?

I'm new to domains so what do you guys think?

Thanks!

I read this sentence a few times and didn't understand it. Now I feel very dumb. :?:

I was comparing my name "Organic Soul" to the book "Chicken Soup for the Pet Lovers Soul"
I'm trying to show what I mean by "Organic Soul"

So if you were to call the content on my website "Chicken Soup" it would be chicken soup that's meant for the "Organic Soul"

Get it?

it's a decent name....and good for your purpose... Although, you may want to ask for advice via pm from trusted members and not put the name out you want to buy.

I think the name makes sense, but how much is it?

I can get it for 1600.00

Well I've already leased it so no one can buy it but me. Also the price is high, but I'm mostly concerned about its brandabillity.

Aah I get it now, I never heard of the book. I think the domain is decent but the value is in what you make of it. $1600 is quite some money but it sounds reasonable if you have a strong plan for it.

I would look at my budget and first try to find a keyword term in .com that might have some natural traffic, or high search already.

the words "organic soul" have only 1900 global searches per month, according to Google Keywords.

some other examples:

organic food - 673,000 search per month

natural organic - 165,000

organic online - 49,500

Ask yourself who is the audience you are targetting your blog to, and what words are they already searching for or are familiar with?

If you can get a .com domain with a term people already search for, it may get some natural type in traffic, and may show up in search engines when people search for those words. A .org domain might also work for this, because it suits the 'green' industry.

Are you planning to advertise the domain a lot in print, or are you just relying on search engines and links for your traffic? If you are planning to take this venture far and do a lot of promotion offline, you'll probably want a .com

If you want to put work into building the "Organic Soul" brand into a well known term, and you like this term, then stick with it. If you buy the .com, you should also consider buying the .org, which is available to reg.

I'm basically looking for a good name to build a brand and quality website with.

Excellent brand for what you want to do and at a very fair price for end user like yourself. You should definitely buy it if you can easily afford it.

Thank you everyone for your positive comments. I'm just trying to decide how "Organic" relates to Eco, green, natural, and alternative health/wellness. I welcome any new opinions!
Thank!

Guys what about adding "the" to the beginning. How would "the" affect the name and SEO?

Sorry. It wouldn't matter. Most people (and search engines) ignore "the".

If you really want the name, and want to make it your brand, then by all means go for it.

But in the current market, I think you could probably do better with your budget.

We are all have different points of view and opinion...I kind like it "Organic Soul" , but for mass market I'd go with something green in it more then Organic...It's just the way I look into eco stuff...

I guess for that kind of money you want to invest....you can find better name, to be branded....It's just thought
