Hi,

I'm just a small fish. I've got about 40 names. I pick up a handful of names per-year as my sales & parking revenue allow ( mid $xx per month) I don't really have any general theme to all my names, though adult names seem to be my predominant money makers.

Right now, I've got all my names at sedo. And while I haven't had any problems directly with them, I see a lot of people on this site saying that they aren't what they used to be.

So I'm wondering, is it time for me to look elsewhere for parking? Can I be getting more money off of parking somewhere else?

With so few names, I'd probably be looking to move them all to one location. Don't really want to scatter them out too much. That just means waiting longer to get paid. I'd really love to hear from other people on "Place X is best for these kinds of names" and why...

Also, all of my name sales so far have been on names that people found through sedo. Am I less likely to get any sales by moving my name somewhere else?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, a lot of people use Sedo because it helps with sales. With revenue that small, it's not costing you much to be there. Even if you increased by 100% somewhere else, it could cost you more in missed sales. Might as well stay there and benefit from the sales.

I, also, own a small number of domains which are listed at Sedo. Personally, I have seen no difference be it in revenue or sales between Sedo and comparing services such as NameDrive.

Just my opinion.

IMO it depends on the traffic you get. If you have say, just 300 hits/month or $5 revenue it's not worth switching to another PPC provider ;)
Other factors to consider are the origin of traffic. I think Sedo is not bad for monetizing European traffic, also I like the ability to set different keywords according to country of visit. I have found Sedo to be more flexible for optimizing domains... tried a few other providers and not too impressed with the payouts... but I think sometimes domains will do better elsewhere.

Just a thought, but I wonder if we should post which keywords are paying the best and where?

Also, which domain genres do better where?

Adult?
Spanish, Chinese or other terms?
Technology?
Medical?
Games?
Casino?

Everyone has their likes and dislikes about services provided.

Or maybe we need to just develope our own landing pages with ad rich and relevant content.

That would be extremely useful.
Not sure if it would be extremely in violation of the user agreements at these sites.

Just looking at my sedo account and it is way, way off already for the month of March compared to other months. We're talking in the range of 65%-70% or more down in revenue and CTR. Sites that typically get 50% or better CTR are at barely 12%.

This is a content issue and someone mucking up the keywords and irrelevant ads and content on the landing page. I am talking about my historically highest paying site month after month. Last month CTR =47.04%. For March CTR =12.05%.

You know, I got a $9+ click on sedo with one of my domains on sedo and I told the forum what key words I used...That was the last click over $2
I got with those keywords and now they are down to the usual .08-.10 cents.

I think Sedo adjusts the payout back down once they see it paying really well with numerous people...or the payout go down as lots of people use the keywords...not really sure why, but I know the high paying keywords were only high paying for a short time...

Once of the best suggestions I've heard since being on this forum.
