Its at dotster and needs to be sold and pushed to another dotster account today. Will need to eb renewed.

The name has potential and can be used for anything from:

Porn ---> internet connections.

Possible methods of use would be with subdomains

porn.shouldbefree.com
credicards.shouldbefree.com
iraqis.shouldbefree.com
dateswithyourmom.shouldbefree.com

Domain has a bunch of uses. 100$ through paypal takes it

hosting.shouldbefree.com
cellphones.shouldbefree.com

Its the domain that keeps on giving :)

that was in my origianl message and I chose to delete it before i posted lol

I was actually a little annoyed at how greedy this place has become under new ownership and I will say it publicly. Doesnt matter to me.

I dont think there is an anti-free speech clause.

im buying and selling to try to make that 50$ worth it...

Loun, as far as I remember the "pay for membership" plan has been "invented" already by gregr. So it has nothing to do with the new ownership.. ;)

I was a member here for a long time and then after new management my ability to post in the forums, and or get PM's or enter the chat room were no longer there. I had to pay 15$ to be able to do anything and then another 40 to be able to post in these forums and get my PM's to work.

It wasnt like that...

Anyhow this thread is about ShouldBeFree.com being for sale. nothing else.

My humor has bad timing, I didn't mean to stir anything up. Is it just me or is there a lot of tension around this place now? :uhoh:

Yes, back to the name. It really is a very useful name. I could think of lots of things that shouldbefree.com Hey look I have a poodle on my head.

wrong thread for this, but since this was commented on and initiated by the original seller.

A million dollar industry, with a site started for free to build publicity and a community, then to simply use this community and traffic to earn some decent income. hmmm, greedy? I think not, maybe a few people are still hurt by the fact that they had no say so in the sale, or no prior knowledge of it, but how can anyone knock the person that built and sold for a profit? or the person that saw the future of the site, had the funds to make the investment, and has since changed nothing major in the way that the site has been run.

No wonder the DN Industry is in a depression, maybe we should have names donated to all resellers by the registrars when they expire, so that we can make more money huh?

if any of that was pertaining to how you think I must feel then you are actually pretty offbase. but im glad you think you chipped in. Everyone needs to be able to feel useful every nwo and again.

As far as the industry being in a recession... its all in what you make of it. The smart people will begin building sites instead, the good sales people will still be able to make the sales.

Im literally just dumping the domain because i have too much else going on with sites im developing. I just dont have time to find a buyer. If it doesn't sell here... oh well.

And as far as pay vs free for this site. As far as i can tell, perhaps im wrong on this... if someone who is actually a buyer comes to this site because they were told there was a name here they should buy... the wont be able to reply to a post, PM, join a chat, or hit the email button, unless they go and buy a membership... you don't think that would just make them leave? I do.

peace

Weren't these changes implemented before the new owner took over? And if someone really wanted a domain, reading the posts here, doesn't cost a dime, and checking the whois to send an offer, is simple. If they wanted the domain, that is what these potential buyers would do anyway, or they don't want the domain anyway.

yep ur right... i agree making it as difficult as possible for someoen to buy the domain is the best route to take. not everyone is websavy. Thsi place gets spidered by search engines and the user might have stumbled on this place from there.

Not everyone knows how to use a whois and to be honest with you, i dont care if they do or not as long as they buy the domain. Anyhow open your mind a bit, back to the sandbox to play.

Done with this conversation as its not in the appropriate forum AND it wont get anywhere.

SHOULDBEFREE.com expires from dotster today so I guess its no longer on sale :)
