Look everyone! Sibername offers "privacy" for the 3000 .eu domains it registered!

Free pre-registration for .EU domains from Sibername.com. Successful registrations only €10.39 thereafter

March 27 th , Ottawa, Canada; Sibername.com, a leading Canadian registrar and hosting company has reinstated it's commitment of being Canada's number one registrar by offering .eu domain registrations.

Interested parties can pre-register their domain name for free under Sibername.com's offering and if successful in their bid to obtain the domain, registrations will be processed on April 7 th 2006 under the “Land Rush” program offered by EURid, the agents managing the .eu registry.

Successful registrations cost €10.69 per year (approximately $15.00 CAD) and customers are offered the option of protecting their privacy by using Sibername.com's UK division for registrant details.

Interested parties can visit www.sibername.com/eu to pre-register their desired .eu domain name for free. Sibername.com will only charge those who are successful in obtaining their desired .eu domain name.

With over 300,000 registrations under the ‘Sunrise' registration program for trademark holders, EURid is expecting several million registrations to be made on April 7 th , underlining .eu as one of the leading TLDs in use in the world.

Sibername.com, based in Ottawa, Canada, is one of Canada's leading ICANN accredited domain registrars and web hosts, offering registrations for over 20 different TLDs and a variety of web hosting packages aimed at both home and business users.

Remember, pre-registrations all go through on April 7 th 2006; April 8 th may well be too late!

So one has to wonder how all those people who were going to then lose .eu registrations made through Sibername might have gotten confused about how that could happen!

It's a good thing that Sibername would never do anything like that with CIRA registrations.

Oops!

And why is this .eu topic posted under the .ca forum?

Nevermind! The O.P. is MSN, and he for sure is no einstein.

This is an old email. What's the status now? Is WHOIS protection even legal e.g. using a proxy entity? What are the legal ramifications of this for the registrant e.g. if the domain is in Sibername's ownership can they keep it for whatever reason?

Thank you for asking - Bulent begged EuRID not to delete .eu registrations it made with its "UK Office" when the landrush was over and there was time to examine all of the questionable registrations. Let me know if you would like to see a copy.
