Been looking around for a simple solution for running advertising across my websites. Ideally would like a central solution where I can log in, add advertisers details/their ads etc and have it go live across my websites.

I've checked out a few like openx.org - anyone using their products?

Any other suggestions? Logging into each CMS or editing html files by the hundreds just doesn't cut it for selling your own ad space.

I put my banners in an adserver. I picked Google's (DFP) - Doubleclick for Publishers.

It's free, it lets you set up orders and line items for your ad sizes and then you generate tags and use them just like Adsense tags.

I turn off Adsense (which is on by default) and only serve my own banners (banners linking to affiliate offers).

Works pretty well. You see # of impressions, CTR rates, you can easily optimize and swap the ads without touching any of the webservers.

Technically it lets you sell your adspace to others as well (which is the intended use) by CPM or CPC, but I just like to use it to serve my own banners.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
