I used to bid quite often on names @ the old NW but now I don't really bid there much unless I really want the name.

I used to just add any names I was interested in to my watch list (do they even have a watch list anymore?) & then on drop day bid on what I was interested in for the price.

Now their system is just way too irrating, not even mentioning all the problems others have with their other registrars - that's just another reason I'm staying away. Their bid list or whatever it's supposed to be is too annoying/confusing with all their closed/won/today's/outbid etc etc crap... most of the time I can't find what I'm looking for anyway with that.. all I want is how it used to be displayed, none of this technical crap.

It is not teething problems either as NW has been like this for awhile now.

I can't even remember the last name I won @ NW it's been that long.

Almost zero besides important names.
Anyway I'm very glad they got a name which I really wanted. :)

Actually, I like their new system. I have been bidding there about the same or a little more, and they have gotten me quite a few good names recently (I got theatrelobby.com today).

I have no problem with NW.

I have had several heated conversations with the people at NW, and TRIED to explain that since serious domain buyers can't add domains on hte last day for less than 20.00, MANY don't bother! What might be a decent drop at $8.75, sucks at $20.00!

I can think of at least 100 "last minute" domains I found in the last month that had NO BIDS, but I refuse to pay 20.00 for, so I did not bid at all!! WHY should they care WHEN you bid??? DUMB!

I suppose I could have followed them to see if they just dropped, but I get too busy!

Anyway, net result? I purchase less domains from NW now, than if they did not impose the stupid $20.00 price tag for late entries!

I watch domains and if no one bids I try to register manually and most of the times get the desired domain for under $9.

I don't bid for .org at NW anymore. They are uncapable of grabbing them. Although their new design is more clear for me and I understand everything I don't understand how after all this time I can still see $8.75 starting bids when I bid on new domains? How updated system is that?! Not to mention it was now a couple of times when I couldn't bid for a domain and could only watch it. It took me quite a while to finally enter a bid amount in to the correct form field so the damn system figured out I actually want to spend money on it.

They kept the old $8.75 starting bid for old customers.
New customers have a $15 starting bid.

I wouldn't say that was for old bids which were at $8.75 before they introduced new bid levels, but for old customers? Where's logic in that?

One thing I do like better is it's easier to place a bid than it was before.

As for the $8.75 bids, lowest it will let me bid is $10.

you have to bid $10, but that actually registers an $8.75 bid. If nobody outbids you, your bid stays at $8.75

NameWinner is now LAME

Damn near every name no matter how stupid gets
bid way out of sight. I cant figure out how these
dummies think they are going to pay super high
prices and then expect to resell them for a profit

I am laughing my ass off as they waste their $$$$$ :-D

Well on Tuesday I had a $40 high bid at NW. About half way through the drop hour I checked the name with the Enom Whois and it was free to register... so I did, and saved $31 :-D
