Are single word dn that have ovt w/ ext ALL valuable?
Are there any general rules of thumb, ie,
0-50 its worth $XX
51-100 $XXX
101+ $XXX,XXX

I know other factors come into play, such as the actual extension, the actual word, etc. I'm just wondering what kind of effect the ovt results have on prices.

Thank you for your time

Such as the actual ext, I suppose.

gotasale, would that be just for .com's or for .net/org as well?

Ok, so what would be a GOOD OVT w/ ext? Also, why are people searching for a domain name anyway, what is that actually telling us? If the name get's a 50, would it most likely get at least 50 hits per month?

Thanks for the quick responses

Its just an indicater that for whatever reason people are typing it and searching on it and it will probably get some traffic , but how much traffic is unknown. The number W/EXT is sometimes decieving , it could get tons more than 50 uniques a month or get less , it is certainly worth finding out if it has 50 W/EXT. , especially if its one word, try all the other extensions as well and see what the number is W/EXT , might give you more of a idea of whats going on.

you can have a name that scores 500 ovt w/ extension and gets no traffic, this means the name is basically worthless

you can have a name that scores 25 ovt w/ extension that gets 200 visits per day and is worth $xxxx

in short, there is no magic formula and probably never will be

I can't think of any reason why anyone would type a domain name into a search engine, unless they owned the domain and wanted to see if it was in the engine's database. But I guess it really doesn't matter, as long as you are getting traffic.
Thanks all

 Oh, I get it now. I feel like such a newbie. (but I'm not because the title under my name changed to cool member :cheeky: )

Thanks for pointing out the obvious to me. I'm always looking too hard into things.

Some people also just start typing-in URLs after the browser windows has
opened. So if their homepage is Google.com they type the domain into
Google's search bar instead of the address bar of their internet browser...
That always used to happen to me. Therefore my homepage is about:blank
now! :-D

Welcome on board Grace! :)

I would definitely register any ovt w/ext that I find just to give it a try.

If you use google toolbar every time you type a url in your browser that does not resolve google will perform a search of the domain w/ext.

http://inventory.overture.com

it is how many people search for the domain in the Overture Network, 50 means 50 people searched for the domain/phrase last month
