Anyone have experience with GoDaddy hosting + Joomla? I am having a strange problem. Every time I make a change in Joomla (new anything, edit anything, etc), it seems to take about 30 minutes to catch up with the live site.

I don't run into GoDaddy hosting that much but always had a horrible time with it.

It is instantaneous with any other hosting company...

For me, it is any site hosted with GD - joomla based, WP and others.

Especially when I change DNS settings - expect at least a 24 hour delay.

I have sites hosted with GD and HostGator and there is a lag time with GD, but not so much with changes to sites already existing.

Is the GD host on a Linux or Windows server? From what I understand Linux likes Joomla and vice versa.

Depends on what kind of server you have with GoDaddy. I run a dedicated Linux server and never had any issues. Anything less than dedicated was a no go for me though. Not so much with the updates lagging, but the site response times were terrible on the shared and even virtual dedicated packages.

Browser cache ?

If so, it's the worse case of browser cache I have ever had!!

But it's not. I have cleared it several times. It's just GoDaddy.

Login to your Administration and Check
"Cache Settings" under Global Configuration/System.

Perhaps it's set as "yes" and Cache time is set for 30 minutes?
