SnapNames has been in a long drought when it comes to catching .ORGs, as has been detailed in other threads. Kjel Holmberg at Snap had assured us they were working on getting back in the .ORG game which changed when PIR instituted their redemption grace period a few weeks ago.
In light of that, I thought you would be interested to know that Snap (through reseller DomainSnaps.com) got BoosterClub.org for me today. I also held the high bid at NW as it was a name I have some development plans for.
That thing that surprises me is Snap got this name through NameSystem. I thought I had read here that NameSystem had jumped from Snap to Pool (and Who-Is Search currently lists NameSystem as catching for Pool). Was that incorrect information, or did they briefly go to Pool then jump back to Snap?
In any case, I was glad to get ANY .ORG through Snap because I very much want to see them back in the .ORG game. Pool & NW have had it to themselves for weeks now and the bidding (particularly at Pool) is usually higher than the level that would make sense for a reseller to pay.
P.S. Using the live support function at DomainSnaps.com today I asked Amanda if that reseller would be offering inexpensive renewals for expired limited exchange Snaps (as Snaps.com is already doing). She told me they were and for only $5 though there is no information on the site about it. I asked her for instructions and she said they would be posted on the site tomorrow. Hope that is true - I had emailed them asking this same question but never got a response.
