Dan, plenty of time has elapsed.

Smart move number one is to tell your users what's exactly happening. The time has passed for you to keep saying "Everything will be worked out--please be patient."

RealNames has done a 180 and apologized. Many of us suspect it's partially a consequence of the fact he might perhaps buy the site, or that a new arrangement might be on the horizon.

So Dan, what's the story? The less you say, the more people will make it up.

We all like what you've created here, but many of us feel that unless you start involving the community here, the energy will drift elsewhere.

PS: Who's moderating the site, and why did you (or someone) delete my post telling users where the former mods have relocated to? I've asked you in a handful of PM's, yet still no reply. To categorize that announcement as "spam" is just ridiculous, and disprespectful of the mods contributions here.

I second DnP's sentiments. Can't leave a supertanker like dnforum.com alone without a captain.

Since your on the boards, Dan, you should address the issue of how things will continue or be resolved.

I thought that the Sitepoint article re: RingQuest.com was pretty indicative of the problems facing a forum upon a prospective sale.

I'm still very much seeing if something could be worked out with someone who might be interested in this site. If I think about it, I really don't have all too much time for running a site like this, with school and after school sports, so that's why I'm really considering to sell this place now, especially since the previous mods brang it up. What I'm thinking is someone else could really run a place like this much better than I'm now, and also I would appreciate the money involved in the sale so I'm thinking it's win-win both ways..

About the mods, I don't have any now. I'm going to try to see if a few people want to help moderate this forum. Of course if anyone is interested and think they would fit doing something, please contact me I would really appreciate it.

About the thread dnp, I don't want to address it to the entire forum, I'll pm you about that.

Dan, thanks for your timely response.

Probably you should read NameBox's linked thread about how to transition to a new owner.
