I have listed a domain on sedo and after 2 days get first offer of 50 GBP. I Paid closer to 500 GBP 5 years ago as I was an end user. Theoretically, After fees I would only get 15GBP from accepting that low offer.
Do I start an auction and take a risk on only getting 5o GBP or should I counteroffer but therein lies the trap- what is a reasonable price. I know appraisals mean diddly, but I have a recent appraisal of $2500 from afternic but cannot show this on sedo. I've not done this auctioning as a seller before but at the very least would like to recoup original investment with reasonable profit. Any experts to guide me along? Thanks for advices.

Thanks. Should I counter in Dollars or GBP as offer made in GBP so counter say 2000GBP and if buyer comes back with 500GBP+ then auction?

never take a domain to auction, when the offer is less than what you would sell it for.

if you got a 50GBP offer, then potential buyer may be feeling you out.

if you got $2500 appraisal, then ask for $5000

you may lose the bidder or he may raise his offer, but you'll never know unless you play the game.

i've submitted text replies along with my counter offers, such as.

"if you buy at this price, I won't go to auction"

that is acceptable.

Thanks all and PMs So the safest strategy is... well I don't know as it could be another reseller and not an enduser...and all I need is to try and recoup 5OOGBP plus make a small profit and all this After fees. Not sure if it's possible on Sedo.
