Heres a small list of the domains I've regged in the last few weeks after getting back into domaining after a bit of a break, please feel free to appraise them or give your feedback, especially any French speakers with regards to my PRERETRAITES.COM to confirm wether this is Early Retirement in French or not? Thanks in advance for your comments cheers Chris.

BIOMEDS.CO.UK

HOMEMEDICALTEST.CO.UK

MUSCULARPAIN.CO.UK

RESEARCHPROGRAM.CO.UK

SECUREIMAGES.CO.UK

SKINMOISTURISER.CO.UK

SABREENGINE.CO.UK & SABREENGINE.COM (A new aero engine in testing atm as reported by the BBC news!)

PRERETRAITES.COM (possibly French for early retirement? Is there any French speakers that can confirm or deny this? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! As I hate letting Google translate keep me hanging! LOL)

Pre-Retraites would indeed be pre-retirement, although without the S ... your example is more like pre-retirements OR... pre-retirees. A decent name. Did you check the Google Keyword Tool traffic estimates? Could be good domain to dev offering advice and affiliating with retirement investment products, homes, etc... and links to government retirement sites that further explain taxes after retirement etc.

Nice name.

Thanks for that Rob, so it's not total nonsense then! Ha ha! I was thinking of developing it, quite surprised it was available in the .com though, thats why i had my reservations, glad it worked out ok then, i've only done a few random foreign regs in my time and i've done ok with them so far! I think the plural hurts because 'retraite' (retirement) is not used much in the plural.
To me 'préretraites' suggests retirement schemeS.
Préretraite = early retirement
Retraité = retiree

TBH I wouldn't have registered it personally.
The market for French domains is considerably weaker than that for English keywords too.

PS: I think François (Domaining.com) owns retraite.com.

As for the rest, I would say they are more or less ok but no killers imo. But I know you must own even better domain names :)

As Katherine has said, no 'killers', and I think that your
best names are:

muscularpain.co.uk
skinmoisturiser.co.uk

Good luck,

Yeah it's just a pity that they were .co.uk's would have been good to pick them up as .coms.

Oh sure, but .co.uk is still good for the UK :)

Did you get them on 'the drop', or did you buy them?

I partially disagree - yes, the reseller market for French domains is far weaker than the English equivalent but that being said - there are many killer French names available for registration or acquisition from an existing registrant.

The challenge is to speak / write the language in order to either 1) develop the domain, at least the basic minisite 2) converse with possible end-user buyers.

In my case we have French speaking staff (myself included) and living in Montreal, Quebec, direct contact with one of the good target markets.

IMHO, foreign domains (when one can deal in the language) are a nice opportunity.

I do agree with you about the singular being far better WRT preretraite... but the plural, like I suggested, can be used to describe the pre-retirees. Enough to easily brand to end users and traffic, I think.

Tho' I think aubainedujour(.)com (deal of the day in French) is better..... hehehe sorry, shameless plug.

I just hand regged them, just spent hours typing in different words/phrases etc and found these few available.

You did well to fresh reg these domains :)

On reflection, I think that muscularpain is a better name than
skinmoisturiser, and the reason for that is because the word
"skin", in your moisturiser name, is quite unnecessary.. (since
moisturisers are only ever used on skin).

And by using the word "skin", in your name, it also infers that
there are moisturisers that are not used on the skin, and that
is misleading and incorrect.

Musclepain, on the other hand, is a much better name as there
are many different types of pain, and so it is necessary and
desirable that the word "pain" be preceded by another word.

Good luck,
