Hey guys,

I noticed some funny things going on just now. I got an email from Domainstobeseen.com support that gave me a temporary password, I'm guessing someone used the "lost password" function and it got emailed to me. So being suspicious, I went through my account and noticed a transaction today: "Removal of Reseller Lock" succesful, I did not initiate this. So I decided to lock my domain. Whats going on? What is Removal of Reseller Lock? I'm not a reseller with Domainstobeseen.

I've sent an email out to the support, what should I do to protect my name?

Thanks

M

Move your name to a safer registrar like eNom. Many of the smaller registrars have security bugs the size of King Kong's wife.

Yeah, but it hasn't been 60 days yet so I can't move the damn name yet.

Mole is correct. You should move the name where it might be more secure.

Even if the domain is restricted for movement. Now is not the time to
move it.

To transfer it, you need to unlock the domain. And, some one might
take advantage of the window of opportunity.

Make sure it is locked.

Change your password.

Notify the registrar of the attempted transfer.
And, stress to the registrar that you are putting them "on notice" of
the attempted hijacking. And, you will hold them negligent if the name
is stolen.

That is all you can do at this time.

Ahhh, false alarm boys. Tech replied with this email:

Sir,
I apologize for this, I came across an older e-mail in which you had
requested your account information, I was not sure if another member of the
staff had helped you or not, so to be sure I generated a 'send password' to
you & removed your lock on your domain. Sorry for the confusion. If there
is anything else I can do to assist you, please let me know. Have a great
day!

Silly bastards, scaring the hell out of me... :)
