I haven't seen a .ws domain in ages.
The problem with .ws as well as the other descriminated domains is that the owner made a consciencious choice to go "less popular".
Think of it this way. It is like he or she set up a 10,000 sq ft warehouse in the bad side of town rather than a 2x2 kiosk in the heart of the business district. (there is no more warehouse space in the bsuiness district and it would be stoopid to set up a kiosk in the bad side of town).
A matter of taste, business style, product/service flavor, and right timing.
