Thats it. Gregr and other mods here I got the email as well. I have never requested to be mailed about any domains for sale. Here is what I recieved in email:

This is a message from iangouws at The Domain Name Forum ( http://www.dnforum.com/index.php ). The The Domain Name Forum owners cannot accept any responsibility for the contents of the email.

To email iangouws, you can use this online form:
http://www.dnforum.com/member.php?action=mailform&userid=2306

OR, by email:
mailto:[email protected]

This is the message:

Hi I want to sell the following domain names:

propertygrowth.com
propertygrowth.net
propertygrowth.co.uk

All for $250

Can you please get back to me if you are interested

Kind regards
Ian

hmm, I doubt this is really spam. The guy wants to do business through DNF with personally identifiable information, no big shakes.

The spammers that should be quartered are those who you can't even bounce an email back ..

MOLE! stop it! ;)

As a lover of spam (not a sender...just a lover) I recognize it when I see it.

This is an unsolicited email from a member of this forum. This member can't currently post in the sales thread so he has chosen this route to circumnavigate the paid member system.

Cut and dried...this type of spam is as bad as the type you mention because at its core it seeks to denigrate the entire paid member format that gregr has put in place.

If using the dnf email system is allowed for this type of message it would devalue the paid membership greatly. Thus, my post!

I absoloutely agree with Larry. Just for your information mole. Spam is when an email is sent without the permission of a reciever? Unless ofcourse if you dont' understand what spam really is. I and many others who have paid for the plat. membership have an advantage of posting our sales in advertising section, not to take advantage of email buttons on post to do sales?

I really don't mind receiving email from members offering names for sale. Heck, that's the business we're in, so we don't want to see any offers unless we ask for them first? In the bond biz, offers are sent and received each day by email and fax. Maybe we should have a daily offering sheet? I do think that access to the members email addresses should be restricted to paid members only though as a benefit. A lot of other organizations out there will not provide a non-member with a member directory.

What the heck is that avatar in the post above me? Looks like a cheap imitation of the real guy I brought in from the streets when Greg threw him out. Maybe it's a mirror?

I received that too....I don't mind it that much, albeit hopefully they'd send GOOD names. ;)
