Robbers, not anti-spam extremists, were responsible for the murder of Russiaâs master spammer, Vardan Kushnir, 35.
He was found dead in his Moscow apartment on Sunday but, âThis was not a contract murder or revenge for spamming,â says Mosnews, quoting quoted by the Kommersant newspaper.
Kushnir apparently picked up three girls at a club and took them back to his apartment, says the story, going on that the girls drugged his wine, âbut it is suppected [sic] that the dose was insufficient.
The spammer woke up when the girlsâ accomplices arrived to rob his house and during the ensuing scuffle, he was killed, says Mosnews, adding:
âThe robbers took his credit cards, laptop, digital video camera, gold and money. On Monday, police detained one of the suspected girls.
