The first weekly domain sales report of 2008 is now out at DNJournal.com. The business week was shortened by the New Year's Eve and New Year's Day holidays but there were still a few tasty sales including the top domain on all extension leader board - Spicy.com. A .mobi domain led the Global Contenders chart but .net dominated the overall numbers on that list, sweeping 16 of 20 positions. Great Britain reigned on the Country Code chart but Germany and the United States were the only countries with multiple entries. You can get all of the details here: http://www.dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm
Also new at DN Journal this week is our exclusive preview of the DOMAINfest Global conference coming up in a couple of weeks at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood, California. The organizers have come up with several new twists to try to top the highly praised debut show they staged in the same location last year. You can read all about that here: http://www.dnjournal.com/articles/events/2008/domianfestglobal-2008preview.htm
In the next 24 hours we will also be publishing our annual January State of the Industry Cover Story featuring our expert panel's review of the key trends in 2007 along with their forecast for what is ahead in 2008. We called on more than a dozen company CEO's, conference organizers and major portfolio owners, as well as representatives from the legal, finance and development sectors to give you a well rounded view of where the domain business stands today and where it is headed tomorrow.
