I have a great idea for a Social Media Website yet I am not the greatest at coding. Does anyone know the cheapest way to collaborate on building and managing the site the way I want it ran? Any feedback is much appreciated!

Find some local coding enthusiasts? They sometimes have coding clubs / meetings. Go alone to one and see if you can find some help?

If you are interested in a partner, that may be the way to go. Especially if you don't have the cabbage to get it done up front. It just so happens that I am a software developer. ;) I also have a few ideas of my own but I am no business major. Who knows.

I personally was involved in a venture capital incubator program that had some very smart people who gave really great ideas on how to "test" if your idea will really sell without spending a lot of cash. Essentially a poor man's market research idea that I think is fantastic and actually I am working on building the site that will do that. Either way, if you want to talk PM me

Thanks

Great ideas are a dime a dozen.

So are good coders.

What counts is action. If you are low on resources, it is unrealistic to expect someone else to work harder on this than you are willing to (directing a coder partner to build it your way would fall into that general category)

Your options? I only see one that is realistic. Save some money or get an investor, and put some skin in the game. Reserve the luxury of hiring/firing coders (with a low budget, you are likely to burn through a few of them before settling on one that can deliver).

Statistically speaking, the chance you will succeed is pretty low. If your idea is spectacular, get some other people to believe in it (and you) and spread the financial risk between them.
