I have recently switched to url forwarding on DS, however no stats appear to be getting updated.. AT ALL

has something gone wrong with DS that I have missed, are they doing updates every 24 hours or what.

i am using http://searchportal.information.com/?a_id=MYID&domainname=MYDOMAIN.COM

Gonna have to stop the redirects in a minute I think..

well I have not had a single update since this morning.

All Very Bizarre.. I have a complete record of every visitor sent to them. :)

Why did I ever think DomainSponsor would get better.. I should of learned my lesson by now.. Domains Pulled, due to HUGE traffic discrepancies and the fact that their stats appear to be getting counted by a Dyslexic Caveman who only knows the number One..

One eh! One eh! One

Well, my stats have been updating fine all month...so something screwey must have been happening with your account...

Maybe contact support...I think DS is certainly worthy of a few minutes work to get set up properly with them.

you just record it before you send it to them.

I'm guessing he uses his own re-direct code on a blank index page...then AWStats or Webalizer catches all of the stats for each name.

Somewhat more complicated than that as I also filter out all the Bots/Crawlers/Crap before even sending it on to them.

Once thats done, a random number generator kicks in and redirects at random to one of 5 parking programs if it meets Country and Keyword requirements.

Afterwhich just before domain is forwarded, a complete record is entered into our database, which records domain name, UserAgent, date/time, referer, URI of what a user typed to get to our page and then it records the GeoLocation of the user and what program we redirected the domain to.

Then flushes all the dirty traffic to the localhost.

1200 lines of code processed in milliseconds. :).. giving 100% transparency. I then know EXACTLY every single visitor sent to the respective program of which I then use the csv exports of the respective programs to match traffic sent and conversion.

I can also at the request of the program stop or start specific countries or IPs in a matter of seconds, ensuring clean traffic which leads to good conversion.

You would be suprised if I told you that our traffic dropped from 50,000 uniques a day to just over 2000 after the filters were applied on our test group of domains. However revenue keeps going up.

afterthought: it also checks that the programs pages are resolving before sending.

wow - that's pretty sweet :whoo:

if i had a much larger portfolio of parked domains i'd ask you about buying or licensing that technology.

will release under GPL once I am happy with it. Watch this space, but for now I am setting it up for some domainers on different types of server configs to ensure portability on *nix and windows server. (event got it running on an XP machine on broadband)

Can anyone explain what's going on when for yesterday's stats/rev keeps changing? I have 1 default portfolio only. The Total Portfolio stats/rev are more than the sum of the domains (when I drill down to list the domains in the portfolio). If I drill down to a domain, it's higher than the total for the domain on list of domains. Not only that, but these stats/rev keeps increasing over time (not that I'm complaining about that). At what point in time will these stabalize and agree with each other?
