don't u think it would be helpful if 'for sale' forum be divided like this:

.com (main forum)

.net + .org (subforum)

new ext's: .info, .us, .biz (subforum)

country tld's: co.uk, .ca, .de, .cn, .in (subforum)

all others: (subforum)

that way people who don't care about certain extensions wouldn't have to waste their time and browse through the heaps of junk, unless they want to.

And the people who do care would be forced to dredge through several forums instead of one.

It would also cause major issues for people listing domains for sale, as most people post lists containing multiple extensions.

I do think that there should be a limit to the number of threads one can post in the sale forums. I think one per week would work well. The problem is a post of a domain for sale gets to the second page within hours of posting. If there was a limit to one sale post per week, people would use one thread for multiple domains instead of one for each.

Good domains sell fast - they never get to the 2nd page.

Once in a week is not enough for active sellers, imho

You sold a domain in under 60 seconds, what more do you want? :-D

If you want to see people migrating to lesser forums, then by all means limit the number of sales threads per week. I don't start a new thread every day but it's nice to know that I can do that, if I had to.
