I found a name that used to be a gaming site that was popular. It has expired and is available for registration right now. It's a 8 letter .com with 1200 Links still showing at MarketLeap. Below is the breakdown.

Total: 1220

alltheweb: 611
altavista: 176
aol: 0
google: 0
hotbot: 200
msn: 233

This was not the name of a game or product. It was a general gaming information and review site. No trademarks or holds on the name.

I have some ideas what to do with it but a gaming site is something I don't have any interest in developing right now. I would like some of the great minds and creative people here to make some suggestions for a possible revenue stream or other use for the name.

I hate to leave it just sitting there.

I have purchased a few Domains with links. The nice thing is that you get traffic from day 1. My domains are adult related so I just made a simple 1 page site linked to an affiliate.

With gaming sites, not Casino related, I am not sure how you could make revenue from it. Maybe there is a gamming site out there that pays for like click throughs or something. You would have to search for them.

Mike

PS: If you dont want the Domain let me know :D , I am working on a gamming site as well.

PSS: It is important that you get something up quick for this domain, as days go by links will begin to die off, slowly but surely.

Yeah that's true Tippy. Links are probably going to start falling off soon if not already.

Just found some more links too.

Grab it fast for $8.95 then think more about development or potential sale later. It won't stay unregistered for long. I've seen some domains wanted threads for domains with gaming links.

This is very weird and I've never seen it happen at enom before. I just went to reg it but now it says unavailable. I thought somebody beat me to it but I checked the whois and it shows the original owner (from 2000) and says the name expired at the beginning of this month. So it's about to drop but it did show as available a few hours ago. I even checked the box and added it to my cart earlier. It's sitting in there right now still showing as available.

Anybody have an explantion or an experience like this?

The whois takes longer to be updated sometimes.

Are you sure it was available for reg at enom? If it was available, even for a few moments, it really was.

If you want to disclose the name now, I can try and tell you what happened.
