Are .ca's suspended for exactly 1 month before they enter the TBR?

Does this mean we have 1 month grace period in order to renew the domain?

Yes, you can renew or transfer the .ca during that 30 day "suspended" status period. But, the domain isn't functioning while in suspended status (ie. doesn't "point" anywhere)

It's a good thing for those domains not making you any money parked/developed. Let them go a few weeks into suspension then renew - do this hundreds/thousands of times and save money! ;)

Eby for one actually does this - I would think it helps flush out would-be buyers, based on what we see.

So when it's in suspension process and you renew during that time...it gives you an extra 1 year and the 1 month in suspension ?

Nope. it doesn't. I just renewed a domain one day before the 30 day suspension was up and my expiration date is still the same.

Then it really isn't saving you any money...just holding off the inevitable...

More tactics really - some we renew for several years at a time, but others we run to 11:59 PM of the day before TBR.
