Is the hype for swineflu names over? Last week I must have seen over 100 swine flu names for sale and this week hardly any at all.

So is the hype for the names over? or is it still to arrise?

The swine flu propaganda will be replaced with some other BS fearful distraction story to keep people from paying attention to anything really important...such as the fact the recession is now officially a depression..

Online newspapers here in Norway had like 10 articles/hr about the swine flu a few days ago, now - nothing. The last article I read was WHO's statement; "the swine flu isn't that dangerous anyways" .. ;)

I wonder what the media will blow up next.

no, don't think the swine flu hype is over yet, maybe the domainers that registered the names are wanting to hold onto them now to monetize all the traffic and opportunities... but no, it's been in the news some how every day so far... i think a week or two and the hype will be over until winter.

Come Fall time the hype will be back. that being said when there is a new form of influenza being cautious is not a bad thing in my eyes. It is better to fault our leaders for doing to much rather than to little.

It did kill quite a few people, as other flu viruses have been for years. We people who live in modern societies are forunate, what happens when this spreads to say the african continent?

Yeah lol. Don't know about you guys in the USA, but up here in Canada most of our media companies are really struggling / on the verge of bankruptcy -- eg. http://www.google.com/hostednews/canadianpress/article/ALeqM5h3F8bBg2dzjsqiP7jjcIm7P-wSoQ . The only reason they're trying to pretend this recession is over and distract people with stuff like this is because is because if people don't start spending and ad rates keep falling, they're going to go bankrupt. Not an economist, but I don't get how an economy can be recovering when unemployment is rising.. Doesn't make sense to me.

Exactly!..... A lot of this fear propaganda came out of the White House, The more fear they can throw out there, the more credit Obama receives for handling the "fatal" epidemic.

Rahm Emanuel's propaganda machine is very hard at work these days... Distracting as much as he can from the economy while pumping Obama up in other ways.

I honestly don't think people are going to credit Obama with handling anything in this case.
He's not the messiah, he's not even a very naughty boy.

People will credit the CDC, or whoever they think is "in charge of the viruseses", have a few paranoid theories about how it was to keep mexicans down, and in the mean time, everyone seems to have forgotten about the ummm... uhh... something to do with ahhh... oh yeah, I'm a homeless bum that had my house foreclosed on due to stupid economic policies over the last 20 years that allowed people to sell debt as a commodity and effectively bring the economy to a screaming halt as it imploded on its big hollow bubble of literally nothing.

*cough*

I can only hope that not all domainers have rose colored glasses.

Allow me to say from the Medical Professionals of the world, you're welcome.
