I was browsing the TDnam selection and had a look at some of their certified appraisals.

Its sometimes really funny to see how they perceive the market..

Lets have a look at some good ones..

Here is a NNN.com domain..

820 . com Appraised at ..$305.00 - $793.00

https://www.tdnam.com/trpItemListing.aspx?miid=4829950&

And two CCC.org domains..

a30 . org Appraised at ..$4,700.00 - $12,220.00

https://www.tdnam.com/trpItemListing.aspx?miid=5356407&

4nx . org Appraised at ... $12,400.00 - $32,240.00

https://www.tdnam.com/trpItemListing.aspx?miid=5686222&

I corrected the links.. But take my word for it.. Thats the prices.

The guy who paid 15$ for the appraisal of 820 should really ask for his money back :) the current bid is up to 4,5K .. So he should be getting a reasonable price..

The owner of a30 hasent let it go to his head.. his asking is 99$ (though it still over priced)..

The owner of nx4 must be lost in translation.. He is expecting 24K for it..

The 820.COM appraisal is a HOOT, not a monkey.

The monkey is me for being a fool for paying for one of those "certified" appraisals.

No sir. Not going to take the cheap way out with some lame $5.99 Express Appraisal. We're going all out on this one!

Not just any appraisal, but indeed a certified appraisal that touts:

Add Certified Domain Appraisal - Just $14.99
• Review by industry experts • Results in 2 business days or less
• Includes a Certified logo/certification indicator
• Appraisal displayed via a secure Web page

The domain was OIE.BIZ, all vowels. Came back at $68.00-$99.00. It was more a curiosity thing than anything else.

Their industry experts? TDNAM own sales.

Recent Comparable Sales

One of the best tools for determining value is comparable sales. Our appraisals are largely weighted on recent comparable sales in secondary markets, including The Domain Name Aftermarket®.

So, whatever a three character .biz was going for at the time on tdnam, that's what this came in at. I'll pay this all day long for vvv.biz.

Industry experts? A damn database at TDNAM and GoDaddy. The only human that ever saw this was me, and now you.

So I am the monkey, I am the Baboon, I deserve another dildo for being such a dildo for falling such a gimmick.

I found the monkey, give me my prize:violin:

The owner of nx4 must be lost in translation.. He is expecting 24K for it..
What's my 1oj.net worth? It got 29 hits in 2006. It is 1K per hit?

I've been scare (working on projects of late) but trust you know that you can look up your own comparables at the site in my sig. Don't know but would consider taking a bet that TDNAM's database is smaller in total sales dollars.

Well HOOT or Monkey..

Id like to be on the seller end of the CCC.org deal that got them to appraise them like that or on the buyer end on the NNN.com. I wonder if they would be interested in buying it themselves.. If I was the owner I would be willing to sell it for one tenth of the appraisal value..

But off course I am a reseller ;)
