How about taxes102.com? Seriously though, for most people college is a distant memory, and using "101" is not as universal and intuitive as you think it may be.

Disagree Greggish... 101 is synonomous with newbie in my book.

It's workable...but it's a seasonal domain.
What will the owner do the other 9 months of the year.

Approach Intuit or Kipplingers they may be interested.

Cheers!

Gregish,

I'm not saying that you're wrong... I'd just like to know what study you're basing such a bold statement on. :weird:

Ezinestein, not basing it on any study, just my opinion. I may very well be wrong.

This name has a lot of potential to be developed. It could be a content site to provide individuals with all types of tax information and strategy. They need this information for decisions during the year, not just at tax reporting time.

When I look at the value of the name I look at how much revenue could be produced if a site was developed with the name. After all names are not just to be held and never used. This name could be used to sell books on taxes, a paid directory of local tax experts, an online course in tax planning etc.

I'm not sure of its worth but hundreds of thousands of dollars a year could be made with a website hosted with name.

Good Name

I assume that was directed at me, since I was the only one who was at all critical of the domain. I never said the domain was "bad", I just pointed out why I thought it might be a little weak. I'm sure Bob wants to hear all opinions, good and bad. My comment was not motivated by jealousy.

Since most people love this domain, here's a little gift... incometax101.com and incometaxes101.com are both available. 20 DNF would be appreciated if you grab them. :)

I don't understand the "101" bit - is it meaningful in America?

Absolutely - good and bad is always a good thing :D

Taxes101.com does not fit the mold of the usual name that I pursue. I really had no idea as to what to set for an asking price.

The 101 was intuitive for me. From the comments I have received here as well as in the chat room, I have gathered that "101" is not synonymous with "beginners" outside the USA and Canada. So therefore, by people appraising it low, not liking it, or asking 'what is 101', I have gained information about the marketability of this name and any future name I might consider with the '101' added on the end.

Nice name Bob.

I know of three affiliates that offer private label sites for plugging it on real quick. Once done, I think that a lot of sites with traffic should be interested in offering online tax filings. Sell it with the affiliate info.
