Check out this website - www.telebid.com

This is a premium money raking machine. It's an auction site where they charge you for every bid; they sell a plasma tv starting at £0, bidding is totally live (ajax), every bid costs £0.50 ($1) and adds £0.07 to the price and 15 seconds to the time remaining - you get a situation where a PSP has 10 seconds left and it is only on for £5. Every time it drops to 1 second someone else bids, time goes back upto 15 seconds. Some lucky person ends up getting a PSP for £25 or however much, but 25/0.07 = 357 bids at £0.50 each = so telebid.com have sold a £99 PSP for £178.

Watch it it's insane. They must be making hundreds of pounds a minute. They're also being really clever about it and selling "free bids" and selling pure cash.

Wish I'd thought of that!

Looks addictive!

Clever idea - it's like the phone-in competitions on the radio where they give away a car or whatever for the lowest unique bid - calls cost £1 each. This is a natural progression onto the web.

Be a great usage for BidOn.tv (shameless plug...)

They should sell this to Amazon or someone and retire. I think this is going to be uber popular.

hi finbarr and welcome to DNF...

as for being popular... it is a remake of most of the reverse engine auctions with some added modern twists...

it is big and will continue to get bigger... great traffic generator and is easy to win stuff if you learn when to place your bids!

Hi MSL, thankyou!

That's the appeal, but the fact that it adds more time means that it's all about getting lucky to be honest; X other people need to misclick on 1 second when you are the highest bidder.

your welcome  not sure if there is any appeal or luck buddy... all the loop on their script looks for is someone who is on the phone and then uses another script to push their "bidbutler" higher... nice way of making big $ but not so good on customer service... all the loosers try again, bid more and higher and still do not win... then just go back to ebay and buy it!

try their affiliate scheme if you want to make some traffic for your domains... works well

I can't see the longetivity in this...once you lose often enough, you'll eventually stop using the site

but then...there is a sucker born every minute...so maybe it might last
