Us normal people are allowed to query (enom for example) 10 times a minute.

How often are the big players allowed to do it? They have RRP connections or whatever it's called, so can they do it how often they want?

oh ok. Now that I checked, that's what the API info says as well.

Someone else told me it was 10 times a min, he must have been wrong

but as long as I keep it to the limit (let's assume it is 1 tries a second), I can run it for as long as I want right? (an hour or so)?

Good questions....but honestly I don't think this is a very effective form of drop catching anymore. I'd rather just bid somewhere and let them do all the work. Cause you have to pay deposits at registrars for reseller accounts then code the script only to find out it sucks. Enom isn't bad but it has most of it's resources devoted to club drop now and there are some other limitations that I won't go into that makes it nearly ineffective.

I would assume Enom has limited the access from outside inquiries (dropscript) so the outside users do not interfere with the Drop Club effectiveness during drop time.

6 months ago, you could grab a few good names by using a script or your watchlist. But, today. I doubt you can win anything more than the names you could have registered after the drop time.

Let me clarify. We were talking about eNom's API, and I stated that eNom's API is not feasible enough to catch decent .com and .net domain names, so I was talking about .org domain names. They keep changing the limit, but right now, you cannot check the same .org domain name more than 10 times per minute. This does not apply to .com and .net domain names.

OpenSRS will allow you to use their API, but I haven't used them.

I would imagine RRP would be negotiated (if any) limit before hand

Even .org @ eNom is hard to catch IMo

And avs: .org doesnt have a drop time, but I am sre you know that :)
