As far as the stock market is concerned, once themasses begin to throw in the towel, the market will turn....not before and not because some fools get on TV and yap about market bottoms (repeatedly). The market usually leads the economy itself by about 6 months...save your bullets, it will be sweet.
In the meantime, buying up stocks in companies that actually DO something, as opposed to pushing paper and figures around... Because their share prices may be going down, but few of them will collapse, and their share prices WILL go back up considerably after all of this.
Government is seriously committed to a restart: I think we'll start to see a thaw within a month and things turning in earnest during the back half of this year.
