Perhaps the first true 3d movie made.
I was absolutely fascinated by this Behind The Scenes look at Peter Jackson's 3d.
Even the conceptual art (shown near the end) is actually done to simulate 3D - one artist doing the comps in Blue and the other artist doing the exact same comp in Red. Even when cheap 3D glasses are put on, the result in a 3D artist rendering. Simply fascinating for someone like me that is a graphic artist and illustrator.
Read the Wired piece and then watch the making of The Hobbit and you'll see why this may be the first and most accurately described 3d movie to have been made.
