Hey DCG, seeing how a good contraversy can translate in increased traffic (gregR was the master at this), I wonder if we could institute a "People's Domain Court". You could have a section on DNF where people could go to "settle" domain disputes. All parties involved would have to agree to settle their arguments here....in OUR forum (lol--that line is a bit used)...

Not sure if there is any interest, but it would create some form of entertainment, stickiness if you will. It would also elevate the seriousness of "Domain" transfer problems, copyright infringement etc.

It could also lead to one heck of a load of problems for those involved!

How about a slight variation.

Someone offers a domain, then people make a case for why they should get it, while others comment on why an individual does not deserve it, then everyone votes on who wins it.

Sounds like it would only be interesting as a creative work of fiction based on real-events. One could even rifled through the UDRP cases for content to base stories off of.

IMO, no one here could in ANY way render a judgement that is binding, or even desireably by either party. It becomes personal, outrageous, and disasterous even on the most trivial domains. In a ficitional setting, one could note that the domain names have been changed to protect the innocent.

At any rate, more work than any one here can afford to put in. A fun though though.
