The registrars seem to be going to the bidding system so again it's only the people with the most money. The expired domain name game is going to become very small soon with only several people able to compete. I can't wait for the WLS system to come into play has it just getting harder to compete.

I believe that anyone that is anti WLS is either a registrar or has some pool 3 connections rented. So people can anyone possibly be against the WLS system now apart from registrars and private individuals.

Come on throw me your best shot and i'll answer everyones questions about the WLS system because believe me it's going to happen. There is nothing bad about the WLS system apart from maybe netsol running it but hey it'll be good for us normal expired domainers.

Who now reckons that the WLS system will be bad apart from people with Pool 3 connections or registrars.

The registrars are becoming the resellers now.

The way things are going, I'd rather they just grab the names and alert me when they auction them off. It'd save me a lot of trouble.

Investigating names months in advance has become pointless. SnapNames is/was the only shot at that work paying off, and they're losing more registrar connections by the day.

I was against it WLS before, but I've changed my position. There's no room for reseller profit when these auctions are going for end-user prices.

Exactly Lux the registers might as well just auction off the names when they expire with the present system. I just replied to the other message about WLS. If people are worried about people contacting the people that own the names if the wls system comes in then well it's already happening so no change there.
Also not even the big boys are going to be able to monitor every domain on the net to see when it's dead so others do have a chance. Snapnames for me used to be great but in the past year it hasn't got me a single decent name. I'm not wasting my money on them anymore until the WLS comes in.
The only problem i've got with the WLS system is that netsol will be running it which is crazy due to there past exploits and the limit of only 5 changes 10 would just about be ok i think. Come on people wls will happen so start suggesting how you want it to be.

I think you'll start seeing more and more people reconsidering WLS now due to the recent changes.

If you are an ordinary business man or small business company, getting few bucks in domain names .. WLS is the way to go.

As I said in another thread, Snap should go to a bidding system. That would pretty much end any lingering support for WLS from most of the domain buying crowd. :)

I would rather the registrars get all the $ then NSI.

And in all cases the registrar is not making most of the $.

Its the people running the clubs.

Depends on how they're paying the registrars.
Snapnames wasn't as profitable for the registrars as the new models which were rolled out by pool, DW, CD etc.

Makes becoming a registrar a much more appealing proposition for those with the cash. That is if WLS doesn't happen.

Yes, I think we all dream or live (elequa) of owning a registrar.

The initial investment is high though :-(

Actually, the Registrars have always been the resellers.

The "supply" comes from the "Registry"

Now the "supplier"(the Registry, VeriSign) wants to take the revenue away from the resellers (Registrars) and line thier own pockets.

WLS = Racketeering.
