I know, I know, if it's been said once, it's been said a thousand times. There's that much garbage and scams going on at Ebay, it's not even funny.
I usually try to refrain from the typical Eaby whine, but it's getting so bad, and Ebay USED to be a great place to buy old established websites
It's not even the point that, 99% of us here at the forums are smart enough to realize a scam and avoid it, thinking it didn't effect us, but that's where we are wrong!
Every time someone gets ripped off on misinterpreted stats or something similar, it just makes this business a little harder for the rest of us :-(
Here is an auction that got my attention:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3801513736&category=11763
Take note of a few things:
1. at the time of this post, the auction was only 14 hours old; bid at $8100
2. Read "What you will get when you win this auction (without using buy it now):" section of the ad; and
3. Read "What you will get when you use Buy It Now:"
Take note this domain name has ZERO pr and ZERO links, but read this:
"Top 500 hosting services all over the net.
Traffic Rank from Alexa.com: 207,685
Top search results on the top U.S. search properties: MSN, Yahoo!, AltaVista, InfoSpace, AlltheWeb and Excite.
Top search results on Content Sites: CNN, ESPN, MyFamily Network and Knight Ridder.
Top search results on the top U.S. ISPs: Juno and NetZero.
Top Meta Search: Dogpile, Metacrawler and Web Crawler. "
Does this look like Dotcombuilder?
Did my google toolbar, alexa toolbar, and marketleap link all stop working collectively at the same time? Am I missing something here? Or is this just another 'legal' Ebaylized scam?
Does anybody else share my question: WTF! Please enlighten me
