Just saw that the domain brushesandbisque.com was dropped today. You should be quick to register it back before someone else gets it.

Today I got a nasty, threatening e-mail from him blaming me as a cybersquatter. So I found that the domain was registered 3 days later by someone else.

Subject: RE: brushesandbisque.com

If you are the person who took it, please be aware that the name Brushes and Bisque is Trademarked and all artwork created by the entity Brushes and Bisque is copyrighted. You are illegally using this name and obtained the name using false and inaccurate registration information.

Legal action will be taken against you and is in the process at present. Doamins @10 has been contacted and an inquiry started for a dispute on the basis of: inaccurate registration, similar name with no legitimate right/business traffic--you are certainly not a potter or artist, creating consumer confusion and disruption, infringement on TM servicename and copyright.

There is no interest on our part to purchase the domain name from you as we have other websites and addresses. However, you do not have the right to use the name Brushes and Bisque and all legal measures necessary will be started since you are infringing on government copyrights, servicemark, and TM's.

Thank you.

BTW, I'm not the registrant of this name.

Do you think he deserves to lose his domain?

Do you think he deserves to go thru all the trouble includeing UDRP?

I think so.

I think he should file with URDP since it will cost him around $2k. I hope he loses.

He has the right to the domain imo though. He is just being an A hole.

Nice of you to email him.

I would like to own that name just to piss him off

In the email above he said he is not interested. Who would believe him? As far as I know

1. He own the .net and .info

2. He sent the above threatening email.

Once a plural of a .com domain name (games.com for example) was available and I informed owner of singular word domain. He right away registered it and thanked me profusely.

There are all kind of people in this world. That makes the world interesting and people different.

I hope and pray he loses URDP .

This is one of the best posts I have read in a long time! If you haven't already, I think you should invite this prick to see the wonderful new site at brushesandbisque.com and that, while you still have nothing to do with the ownership of it, you do enjoy visiting it quite a bit and thank him for ignoring your generous notifiction that he should have purchased it while he had the chance.

The attitudes here are disturbing. Why is this guy so bad?

Because he is regular Joe - and not a domainer? Because he doesn't know how the system works - and he felt threatened because someone took his name that he worked hard to build a business on? Because he sent a less than friendly email reply to a person that wrote him out of the blue 'claiming' to try to help? Because he then discovered the name had already been registered - and it made him suspicious of the total stranger that wrote him?

Remember..... he's not a domainer. He doesn't understand how things work - and the press and public have frightened him into thinking that anybody who sells domains is not in a respectable business. He's probably read 100 stories about domainers who claimed to be trying to help - yet then requested thousands of dollars from the old owner of the name they had grabbed. So just because the guy reacts to an email sent by a complete stranger - and then discovers his name has been grabbed - he is a bad guy? An asshole? A prick?

I'm sorry but you guys are not being fair. Are you really so insecure about what we do - that you have to label an innocent man who just doesn't know any better - as a bad guy who deserves to see his buisness name and reputation he built showing a porn site? Are you really so ashamed of what we do - that you strike out against a man in this way and hope that his business is damaged - simply because he sent ONE understandably angry and confused email to a total stranger?

I'm serious. This bothers me. Everything the guy said in his email is totally understandable coming from a person who honestly *thinks* their name (and business reputation) was somehow grabbed unfairly. YES he is wrong (because he doesn't understand the system) but that doesn't mean he deserves to be called the names that people are calling him. It also certainly doesn't mean his business is deserving of being pointed at a porn site. It just means he is uneducated on the domain scene. Funny how he didn't use any profanity or call anybody names - yet look at the people here (not even involved) slinging names at him and laughing at the potential damage to his business.

Yes this is a proud thread for domainers - and one that makes us all look better. Geez....

You're right at one point. However, I found that this ignorant person is totally impolite even to the stranger. First, he has 3 days to register his name back after it dropped. He should have known at the first day when his web site doesn't resolve. And there are redemption period and the dropping date which I informed him on the date it dropped, 3 days before someone else regged it. Second, when in doubt, do you blame other people who obviously were showing the intention to help? Let say when you're in legal battle and a lawyer offer his advice. Do you chase him away immediately or tell him that he is a ripped off? Don't you want to ask to clarify his intention first? How uneducated, ignorance, low class this guy was?

You may notice that I didn't call him names in my posts. And I didn't use a nasty words in my email to him, just to ask him not to email me again.

The guy misread your email. He thought you were involved.

But, he should have done some research when you sent the email.

Biz, you did the right thing. And, 99% of the time the person would thank you. Unfortunately, this time you got the 1%

So, you have 99 more "thank you's" out there with your name on it.

By all means .Biz did the nice thing - and had good intentions. :)

Just a shame about the rest of the thread. Seems like a lot of unnecessary name calling and insults towards the poor guy who made an honest mistake - and got confused and frustrated. Plus any time people take joy and pleasure at another's misfortune - it's pretty sad. Too much of that going on already.
