I bet nobody here would have bidded on it because it would have been perceived as 'too expensive' at that time. Alot has changed.

I was there at that exact time. In fact got a few domains before that date and 1 of my 2 current flagship names in July 1996.

Could have reg'd even better names than music.net and com's too, not net's. It is amazing so many great names were sitting there waiting to be reg'd. Near that time you did not even need to pay the reg fee as NetSol sold the names on a 60 day invoice basis from what I recall.

The problem was virtualy no one (except domain king) thought domains would ever get popular, including myself. Can't help but think every day what an idiot I was for not having any vision back then. I was actually using the early internet as far back as 1982/1983 (about 12+ yrs before it got popular circa 95/96) when i was collecting online financial market data using my first Apple 11e computer.
