Okay, so I own fishy(dot)com and am again, yes again, tossing around the idea of developing it. I've owned the domain since 1997 (original owner), and it's left over from a business/website sale from a few years ago (I held onto this domain because it wasn't the name of the business itself and I thought I could get additional money for it the client wasn't willing to pay at that point).

Thing is, I do not have a lot of resources to throw at it right now (ie., money). I'm a web designer by trade (front end), but not a programmer (back end), though I have worked with free scripts that are out and around.

I was tossing around the idea of trying a BANs site - but not sure how successful those are proving these days. With "fishing boats" falling into my category, I assume if I can get the traffic, I could bring in some decent commissions.

Is it difficult to get approved as an ebay affiliate? Are there better affiliate programs out there to look at? Or should I come up with something else...

It's a great domain, and I get steady traffic with ZERO work over the last 4 years.... I never look at the stupid thing. It's either time to sell or DO SOMETHING with it. I just bought a ContentMiniSite for it and am still working on the content end of it, but I know that alone isn't going to do enough.

Thoughts?

BANs is just ebay I believe? I know some other affiliates using it. If you keep it, I would just build it out yourself. Decide what you want the focus of the site to be, fish people have in their home, than you can sell fish food, aquariums, all that stuff. Or maybe Fishing, then fishing poles, boats, tours, lures, etc. But do it yourself if you want to make real money.
