Big thumbs up for Parked.com's last-minute email notification !

I had posted my opposition to the ICANN board prior to that but i believe the alert has helped a great deal to wake up some more people and to motivate them to voice their opinion *still in time*.

Thanks, Parked !

Yeah, that was really classic. Before the notification I wasnt sure of where to address my personal views and complaints but thanks to them I got the ICANN email addresses. Kudos to the Parked team and Donny!

Probably because many of the parking firms and registrars are not certain if the proposed open-ended pricing could be beneficial to them or not and are still evaluating the details.

If a registrar sees a way they could get a piece of the action and a percentage of a 20k renewal bill for last years $9 name they would in all likelihood be in favor of the new agreements.

However, it appears only the registry can get the money but am thinking they will give a good commission to the registrar in the form of a rebate, i.e. $20,000 renewal with $4,000 (20%) commisson to the registrars. That way the registrar may also market the name to others if registrant balks at paying the bill.

As a domain owner, I don't want any raises in the price of domains. As a registrar, I would love to have the ability to have lower prices/higher revenue when selling domains.

We sent the email as a domain owner, but to be honest with you, as many people posted in oppostion of the changes, I bet the decision has already been made. And not in the domain owners favor.
