Picked up this domain a few weeks ago via namejet auction. I plan on developing it unless a ridiculous offer comes in. But I think I may have overpaid as I got into a little bidding war at the end and paid a grand more then I wanted to, wondering what you think value is for this one?

TLD.com is a software company
TLD.net is a messaging service

So no competition from them for the domain name use of the 'tld' keyword.

Any thoughts?

I think we all get caught up in a bidding war at some time or another,if developement it does not matter what you paid as it will be worth more once developed.....

Nice grab. I was following this one myself. I don't have an appraisal but it's a really nice domain -- especially for domainers -- and you should definitely develop it.

As you must see only one LLL.ORG drop at Namejet this month, so the demand for LLL.ORG is raising, prices are going up.
Nice name for developing, good luck with it!

At almost four grand, you paid a record price in recent memory for a LLL .org. But since it's TLD.org it appeals to the domain industry mostly. Perhaps you could offer it to PIR and thus flip it for $10k+

Thanks for suggestion. Will probably keep it though, think what I will develop can make $100/day profit with only upside in future. I'll make a post here in this forum once it is developed to get some feedback.

Thanks

I was in that auction, really nice domain...it went a bit much for my use, but I don't necessarily think you overpaid. I don't think the acronym TLD will be changing any time soon, so you are good there. And if you can develop it to a $100/day profit then I would never look back at maybe paying $1k more than you wanted....assuming this domain's name is a major part of that $100/day being possible.
Like bulldog said, we all get carried away at one point or another. Personally, I have a hard maximum before the auction starts and will not surpass that, to take the emotion out of it and keep it math. But, I don't think the emotion served you badly here, as long as the domain name is a major part of what you will be able to do with the developed web site.

I think it could be one of those rare domains that are worth more to a domainer than an end user :D

What do you mean? If the domain name has meaning (i.e. sex.com) then it is no different then developing a 10 character domain.

Thanks for feedback to everyone. I may PM a few of you to see if you'd like to Beta test the site before I launch it live.
