I own a .com domain that is a last name. However, there are MANY companies that use this word for the name of their company. These companies have used this name + a keyword for their domain names.
For instance. If I own Smith.com (which i don't, but just as an example). And there are many companies named "Smith". Since I own Smith.com , they decide to buy SmithMarketing.com , SmithEngineering.com or SmithLandscaping , etc etc. There are around 50 domains I could find on google alone from a quick search with this word in their domain.
Anyway. Since "Smith" is last name as well as a company name, does this mean one of the companies can take the name from me? What if i try to sell to them? Or is my best bet just hold onto the domain until they contact me? I just dont want to run into any trademark issues.
