hi, may I ask how you obtain all those 3 letter and rare domains?

do you buy them from the owner or do you use a dropname service?

I think greg would agree that chasing domains in 1999/2000 was just as competitive. We lost many to him, he lost some to us, we lost some to Josh, others got lost to Yun. NetIncome was grabbing some..etc..

The game hasn't changed, just more people playing.

Difference is...one day in January 2000, we got Kids.com, Welcome.com.

Greg got Mesa.com

Yun got gracias.com, jerseys.com

Then some mixup with the registrar occurred and CNET yanked back kids.com and welcome.com with the help of Netsol (dropped by mistake was the claim).

I registered tycoon.com and bookkeeping.com by hand in January 2000 because there were so many good names dropping that people had different priority lists. 3-letter .com's dropped by the dozens.

There were no chasing registars or direct socket access. You just built your best script and ran it through the registrar's API.

Those days were fun.

Cool newbie to this site. Those that were in the GD chatrooom back in early 2000 would remember the handle 'Sportacle'. Other than that, I am just a guy who chased domains earlier than some and later than others.

By the way, if you guys want companies to worship about domain chasing...try DigiMedia.com, or National A-1 Advertising. Their collections are very impressive.

I can't locate any one word generic in their portfolio and they call themselves... the Internet?! Try Intranet next time. @_@
