glad to see that toysrus ended up with this domain... would hate for kids to type in toys.com and see a bunch of adult toys. :)

And now ToysRus can proceed with corporate layoffs and a large shipping of toxic paint toys from China :D

i'm sure that's not too far from what will happen... toysrus has been in and out of major financial trouble for years... not sure if a 5 million dollar domain purchase is really going to change that.

"a break as taken place to discuss bidding increments among the bankruptcy lawyers."

you're not far off Theo!

maybe they finally realised that having traffic of this quality can give them a large step up? dunno. its a shedload of corn though

great high profile sale

wonder what the muppet who dropped it in 98 is doing?

I believe Toys R Us actually owns its stores ( land/buildings ) I remember years ago looking into them and being impressed by this.

I wonder in how many layoffs this may help lead to at ToysRus when they're "re-adjusting" the corporate budget to pay for the domain purchase.

Still yet, this is a great landmark sale to help give the domain secondary market some stimulus and positive vibes !

Mitt Romney is making a statement loud and clear:

Mothers and Fathers will buy toys for their children from Romney's online toy cartel whose primary method for profit is the mass production of Chinese slave toys.

I think you are going to start to see some more major corporations using online presence/stores ...where possible and realistic, to save money vs bricks and mortar ...

Since Amazon.com served 'em a can of retail "whoop ass", it seems Toys R' Us has been itching for a little payback. But who woulda thought they'd have $5.1 million to spend in this economy! It's clearly a long-term bet, imo... let's hope it pays off!

Romney poured more than 5 mil into his own campaign, -

this decision to buy toys.com has far more potential than his republican candidate saga ever had.

They did not pay 5.1 for just the domain but the whole company.
