Pet Peeve time...

Why don't buyers ever leave Feedback for domains they buy?

I mean, somewhere like 50% of the time, people don't bother leaving feedback when something goes well as opposed to the seemingly 100% of the time they leave feedback when something doesn't.

I've sold over 45 domains to members on this board and have a total... GRAND TOTAL of 15 feedback entries (all positive of course ;) ).

Same on other forums. Less than 50% pretty much everywhere... even Ebay.

What's up with that?

feedback system for this forum is irrelevant. Let's say you see on ebay an item that you like and the person has a bad feedback. You won't buy from him, you in most cases will find another similar or the same item and buy from somebody else. Here we have a unique product. Absolutely all the domain names are different. Simply put, if I like the domain name I don't care from who to buy this domain. There are escrow services to protect my rights as a buyer/seller. I can't let the good domain name go just because the person that sells it has a bad feedback.

But when you request to buy a domain, no one will bother to send you a list if you got bad feedbacks.

i have seen in N.pros that even if you do domain appraisal for their names, they leave you an i-trader rating. so i think this whole thing is not that relevant once you have developed good contacts/deals.

I think you are missing, one of the reason dnf even have a feedback system.

The seller can let the buyer and others know, everything went good and they are happy. And the buyer does the same, or say if some thing was not right or some thing. And a seller that don't get feedback, must wonder if the buyer is unhappy, about some thing if they don't leave feedback.

I for one, do read the sellers feedback before sending pay pal funds. Because once you send the funds, you are very unlikely to get it back if some thing goes wrong. For big deals sure you can use a service to protect your self, but that not the case with pay pal payments.

I am much more likely to accept paypal from a new user who has 5 or 6 checkable trader deals than from a user that has 0 TR

I'm personally not afraid to ask for feedback. I don't believe it's irrelevant.

Contacts are great but lets face it we aren't going to get to know everyone, especially since domaining has attracted a ton more people lately.

Let's say I've never done business with someone. I'd be willing to accept a 2 grand payment via paypal from someone with a history that I can check out vs. someone that's virtually a ghost.

Provider is right to say that if you want the domain you will go for the domain. I believe that's true. But how you go about getting it, payment wise, may depend on what the person is showing in their trading history.

ok, here is the story for you.

One of the admins recently on the forum negotiated a deal with me, and
after that ignored me for some time, no payment received, and now is
saying (after we closed the deal and I accepted his counteroffer) that some
other admin is still looking at the names. What would you do? The guy should
get a negative feedback, but I am not crazy to give him one. So basically if
even admins acting unprofessionally what can you expect from other members.

This feedback system is 100% irrelelvant, this is at least how I view it.

Maybe this is part of initiation process for new admins?

I prefer dealing with members here who have good feedback. I also look to see who the feedback is from, the more feedback from more familiar members the better. I mean, do you really think an exclusive member with double digit or better positive feedback is going to shaft you in a deal?

When a sale gets close to being finished you should ask the other member for the positive feedback.
