Hi all,

I own TraderRating.com. I feel like it has TONS of potential, but I'm not sure where to start here. The name sounds AWESOME. It's even one of the tabs we use on this forum to check someones sales history, almost like an ebay feedback score.

Can someone give some ideas/opinions/valuation of this site?

Thanks in advance,
Michael

I like the name.

I see a reputation check for online retailers. Something that could combine feedback ratings or testimonials from multiple sources in one place.

The name alone is somewhat vague and stands only on perceived potential. Its worth what a buyer is willing to build with it.

Develop a service under it and you can sell it for far more than without..

Good Luck with it..

You'd have to come up with a killer business idea to go behind it. It doesn't sound terrible, but I just don't get that jazzed over it because it is a phrase in forums.

Both are links in many forums, but nobody seems to see any worth in them just for that reason.

Maybe a site where you consolidate eBay ratings, forum ratings, Google merchants, etc. I don't know - just seems like a huge project, and I would prefer something more brandable and catchy for it. Good luck with it though - definitely worth a reg to see what you can do with it.

Thanks 2g. The forum reference was just something I noticed, definitely not excited because its used on dnforum, just thought it was a "fun fact" of some sort. I actually regged it before I even noticed that, I had stocks in mind at first (and a few beers, lol)

It encompasses a lot I feel like. Stock Trading, ebay, etc... trading of any sort. The best idea I think is definitely to consolidate all the places where one would get rated on their credibility. It would be a huge project, way above my expertise and budget. I wouldn't know where to begin. That sucks.

I'm sorry but I don't see it as a valuable domain. It is not directly related to a commercial product or service, and those are the domains that can be sold on for a good profit. If I search for the term on Google (UK), there are no PPC ads appearing, and that does not bode well for the name.

Nevertheless, good luck with it.

Rgds

Hi

you'll have to go with companies that actually do some trading

like etrade and other online trading firms

then the term would be applicable

imo...

I agree with many other comments.

you would have to define, market, brand what is involved with trader rating.

As biggie said, it does seem to have applications with the stock market and related services.

Another market would be the barter market. Many communities have a barter system of trading goods/services rather than paying for the goods/services.

Still, there is much branding involved.

Thanks Doc and Biggie, I appreciate the feedback. It obviously would be a large project, probably too big for me. Branding isn't easy either. I quoted 2g because I like what he said, or something more on the barter side of things. If I could make a site that compiled peoples buying/selling/trading history, it could be worthwhile and also contribute something to the markets.

There's probably more money though involving it in online trading like stocks (etrade, scottrade, ameritrade, etc...) Either way, it needs a brand or something behind it and I don't know where to even start, which was the reason for this post.

I do see value in the name though....

Thanks again to all, if you have any solid ideas and want to team up on this with me, feel free to drop me a PM.

-Michael

I´d develop (yet another) website where stock traders can pick stocks in a simulation of real trades, then get rated by their accuracy, % gains, etc.
